J. Ryland Wines – Our Story

My family has produced wine for over 200 years back in Italy.  I am the sixth generation among my Italian relatives to have a passion for wine.  I formed Zerbina and began importing our line of wines as a way to reconnect with my heritage, and because wine enhances our day to day lives.  Our love of food, good friends, and the connections that come about as a result of a life well lived.

Today, I am proud to proclaim another love.  My husband, J. Ryland, has stood by me along this journey and been an undying supporter.  Our relationship embodies the characteristics that we proudly proclaim on our label.  Affirmation. Inclusion. Acceptance.  Love.  When I began the journey of producing a line of wines here in California, I wanted to convey not only my love of my life-partner, but also of the idea that we can all reach out beyond our comfort zones and make a difference.  It is time for us all to step back and realize that the barriers between us are largely in our minds and hearts.  We need more affirmation, inclusion, acceptance and love in today’s world.

To that end, here is our vision and here is our commitment to our principles.  With your help, we will donate a portion of our profits to charitable organizations (whom you can nominate on our website) annually.  The sales of J.
